The position of Assistant Professor in Restoration Ecology at the Agricultural University of Iceland is open for applications.
Projects and responsibility
- Development of internationally recognized research in the field of restoration ecology and related disciplines within environmental sciences
- Publication of peer-reviewed scientific articles and active participation in national and international research collaboration
- Acquisition of research funding in the field of restoration ecology and establishment of strong research groups
- Active participation in the LIFE project Peatland-LIFEline.is
- Participation in teaching and in the development of study programmes at the Agricultural University of Iceland, as well as supervision of students in research projects
- Teaching and supervision of students at the GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme and
- Active participation in professional development and institutional capacity building within the university
Skills requirement
- PhD in Restoration Ecology or related environmental science disciplines
- Experience in research and work related to restoration ecology and sustainable land use
- Publications in recognized international academic forums
- Strong collaboration skills and communication abilities
