PhD Studies
Doctoral Studies

The aim of the Doctoral Programme is to give students sound research training within selected academic fields. The Programme is run jointly with the Centre of Post Graduate Studies at the University of Iceland (UI) and comparable rules and regulations apply as at the UI.
The research project makes up the largest part of the programme (150 out of 180 ECTS) and courses can be taken at another Icelandic or foreign university. AUI co-operates with various other universities, both domestic and international, with regard to mutual recognition of studies. There is, for example, a long standing formal co-operation between the Agricultural and Veterinary Universities of the Nordic Countries (NOVA University -Network), with joint courses being offered and a mutual recognition of coursework.
