Guest studies, as defined, are studies (courses) completed outside the student's home institution. 

The guest student is a student registered at an Icelandic public university (home institution) but has received permission to register for a course at another Icelandic public university (receiving institution), without paying any additional registration fees as the student has already paid the registration fee at their home university. 

Parties to the network are:

• Agricultural University of Iceland
• University of Akureyri
• University of Iceland
• Hólar University College

This enables students to have access to diverse courses and study lines. Any student registered in a university in the network can attend any course within any of the network universities in Iceland with out any extra cost.

Both institutions must approve the applicants request for guest studies.
