The main purpose of the University Archives is to collect, organise, and preserve all University records and documents that have either a practical use or are of historic value to the University.

The Agricultural University of Iceland has taken into service Electronic Arhiving by the national Archive of Iceland (Þjóðskjalasafn Íslands) as of January 1st 2020
