Equal Pay Certification

Agricultural University of Iceland (AUI) has received renewal of the Equal Pay Certification valid from 2023 - 2026. The purpose of the obligatory equal pay certification is to enforce the current legislation prohibiting discriminatory practices based on gender and requiring that women and men working for the same employer shall be paid equal wages and enjoy equal terms of employment for the same jobs or jobs of equal value.

BSI in Iceland carried out a maintenance audit of the equal pay system in accordance with the requirements of ÍST 85: 2012 - Equal pay system. Confirmation has now been received from BSI that AUI is meeting the set targets for equal pay.
