Postdoctoral researcher position Effects of wetland restoration on GHG-balance and ecosystem function (ReWet)

The Agricultural University of Iceland (AUI) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for 2,5 years to join the project Effects of wetland restoration on GHG-balance and ecosystem function (ReWet) funded by the Icelandic Research Fund.

GHG fluxes from drained peatlands are the single largest component of Iceland`s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) budget, but national emission numbers are mostly based on IPCC's default values due to lack of local studies. The ReWet project addresses in detail the GHG fluxes and carbon-, water- and energy cycles of a drained peatland in W-Iceland, and how those change when the area is rewetted. The project is led by the Agricultural University of Iceland and other collaborators come from University of Akureyri, the Institute of Land and Forest Iceland, Svarmi ehf. and University of Helsinki.
