Föstudaginn 24. maí verður haldin fræðafundur í húsnæði Garðyrkjuskólans á Reykjum sem nefnist Skógrækt og umhverfi (e. Management effects on environmental services of forest ecosystems: carbon, bioenergy, water and biodiversity). Þarna munu margir af fremstu vísindamönnum Norðurlanda og Eystrasaltsríkjanna fjalla um nýjustu rannsóknir sem tengjast skógrækt og umhverfismálum, með áherslu á votlendi, vatn og vatnsgæði. Öll erindi verða á ensku.
Það er Skógfræðingafélag Íslands (www.skogfraedi.is), sem stendur að þessum viðburði, í samvinnu við Landbúnaðarháskóla Íslands, Rannsóknastöð skógræktar á Mógilsá og norrænu samstarfsverkefnin FSC-Sink, CAR-ES, CNP og WTH um umhvefisrannsóknir í skógum.
